As mentioned in my last post, I am increasingly convinced of the necessity for scholars and aspiring young students as well to form closely knit communities, in which ideas could be freely exchanged, and more importantly, debated. Plato's Symposium came immediately to mind. No less illustrious was the tiny faction of neo-liberal (mostly monetarists) economists at the University of Chicago (and later its law school too) which eventually launced the law and economics movement...
