Visit to Glenside

This coming Sunday (First Day) I am going to visit Friends in Glenside. Glenside Friends Meeting was organized in the 80s (I believe), by two Friends, Licia and Larry Kuenning, who were disillusioned by the universalist (Ranter...) tendencies in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting.

Both are highly regarded for their work in collecting, editing and publishing early Quaker writings. Together with some friends, they fun the Quaker Heritage Press, which publishes many originally out-of-print Friends journals, tracts and doctrinal books, including Robert Barclay's "An Apology for True Christian Divinity." (1678) In fact, most of the copies of Barclay's Apology in the original 17th century English held by Friends meetings throughout the United States were the ones published and printed by QHP.

Together with the Tract Association of Friends (est. 1816), they are very good sources of sound Quaker literatures.
