New Book

Now that I'm done with Cardozo's book, I will start reading something else. I think I'm going to read Michael Walzer's "Exodus and Revolution." The book is about "an idea of great presence and power in Western political thought, the idea of a deliverance from suffering and oppression: this-worldly redemption, liberation, revolution." In it, the author wants to "retell the story as it figures in political history, to read the text in the light of its interpretations, to discover its meaning in what it has meant."

In short, this is a book which aims at understanding the Book of Exodus in political terms.

Prof. Michael Walzer, Ph.D. (Harvard) is a Professor of Social Sciences at the Institute of Advanced Study, Princeton.
